Yes. Yes. I’m almost done with the final revision of my manuscript. I know – you’re done reading about me editing the darn thing and not moving on to the next step. Almost there – I promise.
In the meantime, I wanted to share a list of books I’ve read this summer thus far:
- The Thin Man – Dashiell Hammett
- Three Graves Full – Jamie Mason
- Domestic Violets – Matthew Norman
- The Bookman’s Tale – Charlie Lovett
How do I choose a book to read? It depends. A lot of times, I’m perusing the bookshops and am intrigued by the cover – yes, I judge books by their cover. Well, at least covers do inspire me to pick up a book and read the back. Other times, I’ll just continue reading works by an author that wrote a book that I liked or recently read. Sometimes, I pay attention to recommendations on goodreads.com. When I feel like it, I’ll dip into an old classic I’ve never read. And sometimes my books are inspired by my travels.
Currently, I’m reading The Library of Shadows by Mikkel Birkegaard. What inspired me to pick up this book: I decided to read a story that takes place in Copenhagen to help inspire/guide my upcoming first trip to the region this September.
QUESTION: What inspired you to pick up the book you’re currently reading? I ask because I’m hoping my book will be on your list someday. (If I ever get my butt in gear to get this thing published.. ha!)
